‘Het Krekeldiner’ is a co-design diner, developed in collaboration with the Krekerij. They make products from crickets as a more sustainable option of meat. During this project we investigated how we could make the cricket burger more popular. For this project we researched the market, the company and the target group.
This research gave rise to the concept of introducing insect eating to students by means of a dinner. Eating insects is unusual and that’s why we keep it as accessible as possible by using something that students are familiar with. For ‘Het Krekeldiner’ students are invited to dine and have a conversation about eating crickets. It is a co-design in which the target group thinks along about the issue. The questions are structured on the basis of a menu card. The starter, intermediate, main and dessert.
Group project in collaboration with Eliana Jager, Tamara Damberg, Tessel Thijsse and de Krekerij.
